Grown in the farm El Tulipán, Pinchote, north of the eastern mountain range, Santander province, a region where coffee cultivation was introduced in Colombia. In this privileged area for its rich biodiversity, moderate dry climate and high solar radiation, coffee grows in the shade of native forests that contribute to the conservation of wildlife especially birds. The shade of the forest gives the cup of coffee exquisite herbal notes and light citric sensations.
This coffee has been selected for the size and quality of its grain, to provide a balanced cup profile with pronounced aroma, medium acidity and medium body.
The story of Café Casa Martínez began with the family's dream of creating a place of gathering and retreat, where they could enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. In 2003, the Martínez siblings (Víctor, Teresa, Miguel, Rodolfo, and Carlos) purchased a farm in Pinchote, Santander, with that goal in mind. Since then, El Tulipán farm has become the heart of the Martínez family. In 2005, Carlos Martínez and his wife were among the first to settle there, enjoying the transition from the city to the countryside. Little by little, other siblings also moved in, creating a true family community. In Víctor's words, the farm is "a hearth," where you can feel the warmth and unity of the family. Even those who don't live there permanently come frequently to enjoy this space.
Over the years, the farm became not only a place of retreat and gathering; it was also the site of a new adventure: the creation of a Santander coffee brand. It became the epicenter for growing, processing, and preparing coffee until it was marketed. Despite their lack of experience in coffee growing, the family embarked on a learning process, receiving training from the National Federation of Coffee Growers and focusing on developing an organic and environmentally friendly crop.
Over time, the coffee crop grew, and the family developed their own brand: Café Casa Martínez. This product reflects the effort, passion, and values of our family. A close-knit family that found
in the fields and in coffee farming a way to reconnect, learn, and grow together, becoming the symbol of their dream come true. It is, ultimately, a legacy that they pass on to new generations
today, keeping alive the values of sustainability, quality, and love for what they do.
